For this skincare product review, we use the following skincare routine for 90 days to see how effective The Ordinary’s Peeling Solution really is on skin with Keratosis Pilaris:
- PM SKINCARE ROUTINE (2x week)
- Cleanse skin using Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash.
- Wait until the skin is completely dry!
- Apply The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution for 10 minutes.
- Rinse with warm water.
- Moisturize with CeraVe Moisturizing Cream.
Remember, this serum uses high concentrations of AHA’s and BHA’s so it’s absolutely important to follow the instructions carefully to prevent damaging the skin!
Especially:
- Apply at most, twice a week at night.
- Use sunscreen during the day and try to avoid direct sunlight.
- Do not leave the Peeling Solution on skin longer than 10 minutes.
- Make sure skin is completely dry as excess moisture can react with the acids.

30 Day Update Using The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution for Keratosis Pilaris
After an unexpected start to this review, we really hoped to see improvements to the Keratosis Pilaris dark spots and bumps after 30 days of using The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution.
Well, the results keep surprising us:
After 30 days of using this Peeling Solutions, it looks like the bumps and dark spots are even more noticeable!
The scientist’s data showed that AHA reduced dark spots but our results show the complete opposite. Does this mean that the research was wrong?
Well, not exactly.
When comparing this test to the scientific research paper, it’s important to realize that the participants in the study used their AHA/BHA creams”twice daily for 3 months.“[1]
Also, the concentration of AHA and BHA used in the study was 10% and 5%, respectively.
Up to this point, we used only 9 applications of The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution, as the directions suggest using this serum at most, 2 times a week.
A lot more time might be needed to see some favorable results.
