Facial pore size after 2 weeks using La Roche-Posay Adapalene Gel 0.1%
Large pores are a common skin concern, especially as the skin ages and the pores appear larger.
After 2 weeks of applying La Roche-Posay Adapalene Gel 0.1%, we saw these results:
Surprisingly, we can see that the overall skin is firmer and strengthened, which helps decrease the appearance of wrinkles, loose skin and large pore size!
Although it’s clear that La Roche-Posay Adapalene Gel 0.1% can improve the appearance of the skin in a short amount of time, it’s important to note that we experienced the following skin irritations during the start of this review:
- Dry patches on the skin
- Skin flaking
- Slight redness

Well after 3 months of applying this retinoid, we saw the following results:
There is definitely a difference in the pore size after using La Roche-Posay Adapalene Gel 0.1% for 90 days!
Not only are the pores smaller and tightened, the overall skin looks firmer and strengthened.
Although La Roche-Posay Adapalene Gel 0.1% noticeably improved the skin texture in a relatively short time, there are some points to consider before using this serum.
Remember, Adapalene is an incredibly strong active skincare ingredient that can cause skin irritation as well as dry skin and flaking.
We stopped applying this serum for a few days whenever we experienced a slight burning sensation to give the skin time to recover.

The texture of this Adapalene gel is surprisingly light and La Roche-Posay Effaclar Adapalene Gel 0.1% absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue on the skin.
Because this is a retinoid, it’s important to apply sunscreen and avoid extended exposure to direct sunlight.
Another point to keep in mind is that this is a strong active skincare ingredient so limit using other actives such as AHA’s and exfoliants!
We noticed some irritations to the skin during the start of this review (dry skin and redness).
However, these irritations quickly dissipated and moisturizing helped with the dryness.
Please patch test prior to using Adapalene, especially for those with sensitive skin, and reduce use if discomfort continues!
