Koreans have been using a Korean Italy Towel for generations to keep their skin looking youthful and bright, but does this simple skincare product help improve skin with Keratosis Pilaris?
More specifically, will the dark, rough and bumpy Keratosis Pilaris skin become noticeably lighter and smoother by exfoliating with a Korean Italy Towel in just 60 days?
Let’s find out!

Using a Korean Italy Towel for Keratosis Pilaris
Physical exfoliation is one of the several effective methods that can help reduce the appearance of the dark red Keratosis Pilaris bumps, a distinct characteristic of the genetic skin condition commonly called “Chicken Skin”.
We’ve seen fantastic results using skincare products containing a combination of Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs) and physical exfoliants.
However, how does using only physical exfoliation affect skin with Keratosis Pilaris?

For this review, we use the following skincare routine to test if a Korean Italy Towel can actually help improve the appearance of skin affected by Keratosis Pilaris in just 30 days:
- PM Skincare Routine (2x week)
- Exfoliate skin using a Korean Italy Towel.
- Wash with warm water and Dove Moisturizing Body Soap.
- Moisturize using Drunk Elephant Sili Body Lotion.
Although this is a very simple skincare routine, it’s helpful in showing just how effective a Korean Italy Towel really is for Keratosis Pilaris.

Remember, it’s important to prioritize sun care when using any exfoliants so we also use sunscreen and try to avoid exposing the skin to direct sunlight whenever possible during this review.
Will this skincare product show significant difference in just 30 days?
ESSENTIAL SKINCARE PRODUCT GUIDE
Want to use a Korean Italy Towel in your own skincare routine but not sure how?
Here’s the basics so you can start scrubbing like a pro!
Keratosis Pilaris after using a Korean Italy Towel for 2 weeks
Keratosis Pilaris commonly affects the upper arms, thighs and buttocks and for this review, we chose to use the Korean Italy Towel on the upper right arm.
The following is the result after using a Korean Italy Towel twice a week for 2 weeks:

Now, it’s obvious that the Keratosis Pilaris bumps didn’t vanish after only 4 exfoliation sessions.
In fact, the bumps look much darker and the skin slightly red after using the Korean Italy Towel!
Although the appearance of the Keratosis Pilaris bumps did not get better, the actual texture of the skin has improved significantly and almost feels completely smooth!
We’re certain that the redness from skin irritation will subside, but will the dark spots fade as well after 30 days?
90 DAY SKINCARE PRODUCT REVIEW
The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution is incredibly popular choice to improve skin tone and texture.
But does this Peeling Solution help skin with Keratosis Pilaris?
Keratosis Pilaris on skin before and after 30 days using Korean Italy Towel
How does using a Korean Italy Towel improve Keratosis Pilaris in 30 days?
Well, the results are a bit mixed:

It’s clear that the Korean Italy Towel is having an affect on the individual Keratosis Pilaris bumps.
Although some of the larger bumps have actually been physically shortened by the towel, causing some scabs to form, a majority of the Keratosis Pilaris bumps show a mild redness from the exfoliation process.
Surprisingly, it seems that a few bumps are showing noticeable improvements and becoming significantly lighter in appearance but it’s still a bit hard to tell at this point.
Once the redness subsides, it would be much easier to see just how much a Korean Italy Towel improves skin affected by Keratosis Pilaris in 30 days.

Korean Italy Towel Keratosis Pilaris 60 day review
Does using a Korean Italy Towel really help improve skin with the dark Keratosis Pilaris bumps?
Let’s take a look at the final before and after 60 day results:

The most noticeable improvement from using a Korean Italy Towel was the complete transformation of the skin texture.
Keratosis Pilaris causes the skin to be bumpy and during this review, we noticed that some of these bumps would sometimes tear when we used the exfoliating towel.
Although exfoliating made the skin smooth to the touch, it irritated the skin and caused small scabs to form over the tears, ultimately making the Keratosis Pilaris bumps appear much darker and more noticeable than before!
Korean Italy Towel is an amazing skincare product that effectively removes layers of dead skin with ease.
But for Keratosis Pilaris, we recommend using Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, Olehenriksen Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner, or our favorite, First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub.
These products not only improve the appearance of skin affected by Keratosis Pilaris much faster, they do so gently and without the irritation.

Korean Italy Towel skincare product review
Do you want to start using a Korean Italy Towel for your own skincare routine?
Well, here’s a few things we noticed while using this exfoliating cloth that might help you decide if this simple skincare product from Korea is right for you:
Can I use a Korean Italy Towel everyday to improve Keratosis Pilaris faster?
Please don’t use a Korean Italy Towel everyday thinking it will improve the skin quicker.
In fact, using this exfoliating scrub will certainly damage the skin!
Can I use a Korean Italy Towel on the face?
As you can see from the closeup photo, the cloth is designed to maximize friction and the texture is too rough to use as a facial exfoliant.
If you’re looking for an exfoliant to use on the face, we suggest using Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant as it contains soft abrasives better suited for the face.
Is it possible to scrub too hard?
In fact, we noticed more than once during this review that the Keratosis Pilaris bumps actually tore and small scabs formed.
This happened most commonly when we scrubbed too long and irritated the skin.
How many times a week would you use a Korean Italy Towel for Keratosis Pilaris?
However, this might have been too much and if we recommend using this towel only once a week.
Because the Korean Italy Towel physically removes these bumps, the skin can have more time to recover between exfoliation.
This would result in less irritation and scabbing!
