Does skincare products really help treat skin with Keratosis Pilaris and if so, how long does it take to see noticeable improvements?
For this in-depth skincare product review, we use Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant for 60 days to find out how this exfoliant affects “Chicken Skin” but before looking at those final results, let’s take a closer look at the active skincare ingredients in Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant that potentially makes this an effective skincare product for treating Keratosis Pilaris.

What active skincare ingredients are used in Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant?
Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant is an exfoliating powder that helps renew and brighten the skin by resurfacing the outermost layer thanks to its unique blend of both physical and chemical exfoliants such as:
- Lactic Acid (AHA)
- Activated Binchotan Charcoal Powder
- Microcrystalline Cellulose.
Surprisingly, it turns out these active and exfoliating skincare ingredients are also quite effective for improving the appearance of skin affected by Keratosis Pilaris!

To help minimize irritation while keeping the skin moisturized, Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant also contains Rose Flower Oil and Niacinamide.
It’s clear that a lot of care and attention has gone into formulating this exfoliating scrub, but will using it daily make the dark Keratosis Pilaris bumps significantly less noticeable in just 60 days?

Using Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant for Keratosis Pilaris 60 day before and after review
To see how exfoliating with Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant affects Keratosis Pilaris bumps, we use the following skincare routine for 60 days:
- PM Skincare Routine
- Cleanse skin with Dove Body Soap.
- Use Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant to exfoliate for about one minute.
- Moisturize with Drunk Elephant Sili Body Lotion.

Although this is a relatively simple routine, it should help us clearly see if using Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant is effective for reducing Keratosis Pilaris!
Will there be a noticeable difference before and after 60 days?

Keratosis Pilaris bumps after 2 weeks using Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant
Keratosis Pilaris is commonly found on the upper arms so for this review, we exfoliate the left upper arm daily using Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant and saw the following results after 14 days:

We noticed right away that the Keratosis Pilaris bumps actually became slightly darker and redder but this isn’t too surprising as the charcoal powder and microcrystalline cellulose in Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant slowly exfoliates the buildup in the Keratosis Pilaris bumps and can slightly irritate the skin.
This redness is characteristic when using a physical exfoliant and we’ve seen similar results when using a Korean Italy Towel for Keratosis Pilaris review.
However, it’s clear that more time is needed to determine if Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant can significantly improve the appearance of skin affected by Keratosis Pilaris.

Does Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant improve Keratosis Pilaris in 30 days?
Our previous results showed that 2 weeks wasn’t really enough to see any significant changes to Keratosis Pilaris bumps when using Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant but is 30 days enough to see a noticeable difference?

Looking closely at the 30 day results shows that although most of the bumps are still visible, we can clearly see that some of the Keratosis Pilaris bumps have started to become lighter and is actually smooth to the touch and if these improvements continues for another 30 days, we’ll perhaps see significant changes by the end of this 60 day review.
Also, notice the difference in the overall skin texture.
It’s interesting to see that the previously dull and flat looking skin looks vibrant and much more brighter after exfoliating with Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant for 30 days.

Keratosis Pilaris before and after 60 days exfoliating with Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant
Does exfoliating skin affected by Keratosis Pilaris for another month using Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant completely clear the dark bumps?
Let’s take a look at the final results:

At a glance, it doesn’t seem like much has changed over 60 days.
However, when comparing the before and after results of Keratosis Pilaris bumps in the center, we can clearly see that the bumps are lighter and the skin is smoother after using Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant for 60 days.
Although the changes to the Keratosis Pilaris bumps were minimal, it’s interesting to note the transformation of the overall skin texture from dull and flat to textured and bright.
Remember, Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant is quite gentle and primarily meant for daily use on the face and these results shows just how effective this exfoliating powder can be for improving the overall appearance of the skin.
Unless skin sensitivity is an issue, we would highly recommend using other skincare products for Keratosis Pilaris bumps.

Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant skincare product review
Thinking about adding Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant to your own skincare routine?
Well, here’s what we noticed during our review that might help you decide if this exfoliating scrub is right for you:
The powder is very fine with a few coarse exfoliants blended in and when mixed with water, the powder becomes a creamy paste that is surprisingly gentle.
During this review, we did feel a slight stinging sensation and redness a few times but that was due to over-exfoliation and pressing down with too much force!
Remember, this powder is intended for daily use so exfoliating gently in a circular motion gave the best results with almost no irritation.
Although these two powders might look similar, their formulation is completely different.
One immediately noticeable difference is that there seems to be more coarse exfoliants in Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant (white) while Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant dissolves into a much finer, charcoal based paste.
Perhaps, this difference might explain why we saw much faster improvements during our review using Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant on skin affected by Keratosis Pilaris.
As always, prioritize sun care when using skincare products containing AHA by applying sunscreen and avoiding directly sunlight.
Exfoliation and AHA’s can sensitize the skin to UV-light so preventing damage is absolutely important!
